Come one, come all! To the only . . .

MADISON*CIRCUS  

After a month of planning, the students of the Madison's Class of 2010 (promoción XX), gathered at the elementary campus to set up one of the best Halloween parties yet to be held at the end of October. Rolling in with pounds of materials, work shirts, and festive decorations, a number of forty-odd students (counting the elves, a.k.a. the fourth-years) dressed the basketball court and classrooms with creative taste and magic. "No rest for the wicked," they say, and certainly wicked were they! Only when the clock struck seven did the group retire, and the prospect of a long tomorrow sent them to sleep. 

Early next morning, the band regrouped and completed the final touches of the much-awaited festival. With colors of red and white and the unmistakable music of the circus announcing the event, the party was set in motion. All around clowns, fortune tellers, magicians, and more made home upon básica's grounds to welcome children of all years and to share their fantastical wonders. 

But avast! These were not your normal circus freaks greeting you with a puff of smoke and unfading smile. Behind the cluster of balloons and curtains of streamers was a darker diversion, one that embodied the heart of the party and played a different piece of music, deceivingly enticing and horribly exciting. Center stage and beyond, the haunted house--The Diabolical Circus--calling attention with the banging and wailing of madness meant to chill visitors to the bone. And you thought we were all fun and games? 

Although the unavoidable complications arose, the day went by with satisfactory success, and the proof of hard work and preparation made itself evident on the faces of child and parent alike.

A happy Halloween indeed!   And hopefully, echoes of our little circus shall continue onto next year...
